Hatch Peg for Parcel Shelf Chord

Featured Replies

First incident in the new Octy

Piled the boot up with PA gear for a band practice. Loads of room in the cavernous boot  :D In fact with the back seats up, it's more usable than my old Estate as I had to take the variable floor out if I wanted to make use of all it's space.

Anyway, closed down the hatch and had to open again. Somehow, the parcel shelf support chord on one side must have got tangled around the small plastic peg on the plastic trim around the hatch window. Peg nowhere to be seen. Luckily the hole in the trim is not damaged. I'm hoping my dealers will hold them in stock and they'll be really cheap to replace, however if anyone knows anything different, I'd rather be forewarned!!

Common 'simply clever' feature.  The big rubber ball on the end of the string gets wrapped on something in the boot, you open the hatch, ball hanks string and string pulls peg.  Dealer has them, gave me a pair for free.  Easy to fit, have a centre peg inside a bit that works like a raw plug.

Thank you! Good to know I'm not the only one and it's an easy fix

You can also get them on eBay as the parts are common to other VAG cars.
