Aircon issue

Featured Replies

Evening all, im being subjected to xfactor so ive retreated the the Briskoda forums for some light reading... while im here im wondering if anyone has any suggestions or solutions for my aircon issue..??

Gadgetman (simon) kindly took time out of his sunday to do a few scans on VCDS for me to try and dig up some more info on a fault code ive got.

The code pulled from VCDS is:

00898 - Control Circuit A/C Compressor: Open or Short to Plus

Is there something simple like a fuse for the air con compressor or is it gonna be a new compressor??

Car is a 2011 Fabia vRS, CAVE 46k miles

cheers

Possibly a busted wire on the way to the compressor regulating valve N280 (part of compressor). Trace the wiring back from the two-way connector on the compressor, looking for snappage.

Check any/all related to the air conditioning system. I can be more specific if necessary, but would have to look up via wiring diags. Too late for that tonight.

I had a look at the cover of the fuse box in the car but couldn't decipher the hieroglyphics so if you have any clue as to where they are and you get a second gimmie a shout

Fuses 9 (5A) and 22 (7.5A) seem to be the relevant ones, at a quick glance. :)

Is it a Climatic, or Climatronic system?

Just having a look through the scan details... does this mean the fault has been there since 2011??!?!?  If so.. has it ever worked? the car was built in 2011...

I recently noticed that sort of date against the engine coolant sensor faults I found logged in my daughter's late 2009 Ibiza, but I'd never seen that fault logged any earlier than 2014, so I suspect something is not too right, probably 2011 was a memorable year for VAG?
