Rear Windscreen Wiper

Featured Replies

I recently purchased a 1998 LXI Octavia, I think the car is great, except for one thing which is the lack of a rear windscreen wiper, especially now it is winter.....does anyone know if these can be fitted and any idea of the cost?

Welcome to Briskoda, Pocket.

You would need a new rear window with a hole for the wiper motor shaft to go through. Then parts which would include a wiper motor, wiper arm and blade, wiring, rear washer and associated piping, a new steering column stalk, possibly different interior trim panel at the rear etc. I would do without myself!

go to ask jeeves and search on skoda octavia rear wiper there is a chaps webpage on there all about doing it i cant get the link to work

Good helpful site that.

Those cable routing diagrams remind me of the fun I had with the power cable for my amp. :D

It looks hard work to me but I'm not the world's greatest DIYer. It certainly inspires confidence because it's so thorough: almost an academic paper.

I'd hate to be without a rear wash/wipe and I'm amazed that some Octavias don't have them.

mine does ;)

You could try and look at www.ebay.co.uk.
