Replacement 17inch Trifid wheel - two part numbers very different price, which one?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Pot hole buckled one of my wheels (not noticed at first) so need a new wheel, but there are two part numbers:

3T0071497E7ZS - £182 delivered
3T0601025D7ZS - £335 delivered

What's the difference and will the cheaper one work fine as a replacement on a 2011 Combi?

Thanks,

Ordered the cheaper wheel - 3T0071497E7ZS - £182 delivered.

Very interesting.... it's arrived and it's the same part number wheel 3T0601025D7ZS in the box thats £335!

The different part number is for wheel and badge as per attached pics.

How easy is it to swap the logo badge from the old wheel?

Dead easy, the plastic centre caps are held in place by small tabs that drop into a recess in the alloy wheel.

Simply use both thumbs and push the plastic cap as evenly as possible from the back and it will pop off.

Superb 2, 4x4

Switched from the Luxon 18" alloys, to the Trifid 17" wheels, with 225 45 R17 tyres today. Very pleased with the result

Came in at just under £1000 for the new rims and tyres.

For ultimate comfort and pothole protection I went from a 45 profile to 50...

It's an unapproved tyre size so you need to be comfortable with the risks, but I love the looks, filling the arch gap with tyre instead of alloy wheel :D
