Fabtavia?

Featured Replies

So I've been toying with the idea of cutting up a fabia VRS front end and making it fit... it's a lot of work but I don't think it's been done before and I like the more aggressive front end of the fabia but the saloon body of the Octavia... anyway, thoughts? :)

I quite like the look of that, with the right wheels and 'stance' (I actually hate myself a little bit for typing that) it could look quite cool.

A colleague has done something similar, he has a Jetta with a Golf GTI front end, it looks nice and different.

Surely the only difference between a Golf and a Jetta front end is the shape of the headlights?

I think we call it 'cut and shut' and I wouldn't have thought you could get away with it in terms of getting it registered.

Cut & Shut is the monocoque type bodies of 2 vehicles grafted together. They will be 2 vehicles with different VIN's maybe even 3...

Changing front wings and panels is modifying not cut and shut. Now if you take a whole front end from the bulkhead forward thats some job.

Once it has been wrapped it will look lots better, honest.

Yeah

It sounds big in any case

Even the headlights look near identical...

fabia front would need widening wouldnt it to fit on an octavia?

Its actually quite a bit more in depth than that given the amount of work it took him, I do agree its a subtle (but noticeable) change rather than a radical one though.

Headlights, bonnet, wings, bumper and slam panel. It's called a gora (bora with golf front) or bolf (golf with bora front) swap
