Forge filler caps (black alloy)

Featured Replies

The way these things work - you take off the OEM cap, drop the alloy thing over it (it slots over) and you screw in the two little screws with the key supplied.

Oil one fits perfectly, no problem.

Annoyingly the water one does not fit as the grip on the blue OEM one is wider than the alloy cap. - I have a feeling it will be fine if I cut off some of the plastic. I would have found this out HOWEVER like a numpty the alloy key slid off the engine cover and is probably on the undertray at the moment (I cant see the bl*dy thing).

As I moved the car back the blimmin' second cap fell down too :finger: :thumbdwn:

It had better not fall out whilst I'm driving or I'm gonna get pretty p*ssed. Either way, thought I'd best share the info about the cap not fitting without doing some cutting though, which is a shame :(

Keep your fingers crossed you get them back then. Will you have a chance before next Sunday?

Looking at your sig you have started the painting process - how is it going?

Painting is going ok, I first brushed the whole thing down liberally with the cleaning stuff, then first layer of paint.

I was wondering though, although the sliders obviously didnt get painted, do you just 'grease them back up'?

@Josh - thanks for the PM btw ;)

Feeling like a muppet dropping the parts on the undertray though, that's the only thing I can think of in that regard LOL. Hopefully it will stay on there, as unless I get enough time to jack it up and remove the tray, it's gonna be rolling about possibly :D

I've also got the 'uddermod' thing, basically front wishbone front/rear bushes, apparently they work well :)

A light smear of copper grease will keep the moving parts of the brakes nice and smooth.
