The Austin Healey is back.

Featured Replies

I'm far to young to have ever seen an original Austin Healey, but the brand has been revived and will soon be producing cars again.

You're not trying to tell me you've never seen a Sprite, or an AH3000? They're not all on scrapheaps, you know!

Seen a what? A soft drink and something that sounds like it should be a helicopter or rifle?

Nick I think the both of us must be getting old

what with Sprog eyed frights and the like, did always like the AH 3000 in that light blue and white

Got a Sprite "waiting for me to restore" in my dad's barn :o Unfortunately things like house, job and family seem to get in the way at the moment - even though the engine, mechanicals and interior are pretty sound

Goochie - AH Sprite was basically the forerunner of the MG Midget and the last versions were almost identical to the Midget ..... please say you know what a MG Midget looks like :o:)

Austin-Healey 100M - these are very rare, you may never see oneaustin_healy_450.jpg

Ah yes, I've seena few of those around.... and on Heartbeat ;)

My Warrant officer has a MKI Sprite in white it's bloody lovely

I had an Austin Healey 1961 3000 mkii, but with a mkiii engine in, came from West USA so rust free. The mkiii had 150 BHP, but still not that fast, glorious sound though, I like a V8 but the Healey's straight six was wonderful as well. Great car and had major parts of body aluminium. 4 speed with o/drive 3rd and 4th = 6 six speed.

18 mpg when trying, 22mpg cruising! No seat belts of course, which seemed to freak people when we went for a blast along the country lanes

I spent a few years stripping it all down and completely rebuilding it.

Restoration done properly isn't cheap though.

I sold it a couple of years ago and bought a Eunos Roadster (MX5) sold that as well......................
