Octavia 180bhp Scout

Featured Replies

My 2014 Octavia Scout is about to have new tyres.

Perhaps owners from the North of the country, or European winter Skoda drivers could offer suggestions on what to replace my Michelin Primacy 223/50/R17 tyres with? (Mild daily off - road use...Salisbury Plain)

I'm also interested on feedback regarding All - season tyres, which years ago were hopelessly inadequate, but I understand have improved considerably. ...? Can any owner confirm this please?

I've been quite satisfied with the Primacy, but would like to hear others comments, are they considered

good, bad, or indifferent?

Finally, I've never spotted Treadware 240 / Traction A / Temperature A before on a tyre, can anyone explain?

(5th Skoda, 3rd Skoda all wheel drive, 2nd Octavia Sout...Best value for money in Europe!)

Have you considered 4 season tyres?

I recently read that Goodyear came top of one road test report.

I'll consider it in future to save having 2 sets of wheels.

I believe a higher Treadwear number should last longer than a lower number. Maybe trading off grip for endurance.  But we've always known that tyres a re a compromise.

But who really needs 150 mph tyres these day?

I had Falken Euro Allseason tyres on my Scout.

They were excellent all year round. Highly recommend them.
