So I have just changed the oil in my 1999 Felicia 1,3 mpi with 112.000km on the clock. I followed the instructions (4,5 L with filter) and poured around 4 L in. After starting up the engine, the oil indicator is around half a centimeter above maximum. And yes, im pretty sure it was empty before refilling. Have you experienced this, and what would you do? Is the capacity smaller than stated? Drive and let it eat the little extra oil?

Have you started the engine yet? The filter will hold some oil, but until the engine has been run that oil is still in the sump. So if you haven't run the engine, start up and let it idle for 10s, stop and wait for 5 minutes, and then check the oil level again.

Yes, I have even driven 15 km... Soo it did not help unfortunately,

With a pair of gloves on hold a small container under the sump plug while you loosen it enough for it to start dripping. Let out about half a litre. Tighten and then recheck level.

One cm on the oil dipstick is one liter of oil. So you have to empty 0.5 l of oil like Wino said. As for "Drive and let it eat the little extra oil?" I have a question for you. Do you need the catalytic converter? :think:

How about the 'mystery' of the extra oil in the sump?
