Yeti SE-L Bluetooth

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

We have just collected our Petrol blue Yeti SE-L and totally love it, but I'm having problems with the Bluetooth... It connects and pairs fine, I can make calls, sync contacts, view texts etc no problem... The issue is with playing MP3's.. The head unit says it can't see any media files on my phone, yet if I select an MP3 on my phone, the car streams it fine via Bluetooth. Any ideas why I can't select which track to play etc? The phone is a Samsung S5.

Thanks,

Steve

I don't use bluetooth for music, I have copied over 100 albums from my computer in WMA format to a 16Gb SD card with Windows File Explorer and pop that into the head unit.
It then displays all Album art, Artist and Tracks to select at will. The albums fan out and a swipe of the finger to chose and once there you can listen to the album or select a track to play.

This is how the albums fan out.

Will the SD card slot disappear with the all new Yeti etc?.

I suspect not for a while, although the VAG group is one of the few manufacturers set on them, does the Kodiak have them? I prefer them as an option over a USB stick too. Not enough people have phones with sufficient memory to carry about their music collection.

My Sony has a micro SD 64gb and I wondered if streaming would replace the SD slot over time.

Possibly - but I suspect not for a while yet, by which time another option may be more popular.

Steve, I think it's something to do with the Bluetooth implementation on your phone.

My previous Windows phone, when paired, let me choose tracks, displayed album art etc. On the bolero.

When I upgraded it to Windows mobile 10 that functionality disappeared!

I've now replaced it with an iphone se and it too behaves like your Samsung, will stream but no access to files.

The only way I think you could achieve what your looking for would be to activate smartling and look at using Android Auto from the bolero ?

Thanks Graham,

I thought it would be the phone as there are only so many options you can tick, and nothing has fixed it. I will use the phone for "Phone stuff" and I have bought a cheap SD card that I will use for music - I only have 12-13GB so a 16GB card will do the job fine.

Absolutely love the car though... Those heated seats...

Thanks for the replies everyone!

Ah yes, don't you just love those heated seats on a cold day!

Xmas lunch in Bundalong is going to be 38*C but in cool air conditioned comfort.

With decorations depicting snow!
