More powerful VRS?

Featured Replies

The present  230 chucks out more power than stated, around 250/255bhp. Unless the the 245bhp chucks out more it is infact slower than the 230

Good read though, thanks for posting

Seems like the logical replacement/facelift for the 230 model. That had the same power as the Performance pack Golf GTI plus the VAQ differential. Facelift Golf PP gets 245ps so looks like the Octavia "performance" variant will get the same.

Mmm the 230 is 230 bhp and this one is 245 bhp yet you are saying the 230 is faster.

I know of 230's that have put out bang on 230 as well as some that have put out more so it stands to reason the 245 will be the same.

I also know some 220's that put out more than some 230's so it's all relative.

Surly all the Limited Editions 230's have the same ECU and all have the same map, I think only around 1000 ( uk ) were made so they should be all the same, within a few BHP

Depending on the rolling road it's on, fuel quality, atmospheric conditions etc etc.

The point I was trying to make is that you jumped on the bandwagon saying the new one will be slower than a 230. However if the theory that most engines out out more than advertised then it's most likely going to be quicker.
