Octavia II AFS headlight fault

Featured Replies

AFS fault on dash vehicle does initial start up then 30s to 1 min after faults comes on. Have tired clearing fault still comes back. Fault code 02626 motor dynamic curve light right.

Any help??

Check the headlights for any signs of damage or corrosion around the control modules and inside around the motors if you can. Space is quite limited so it might not show much up.

I suspect a dealer would just replace the entire headlight which won't be cheap.

Does that mean they are 'Adaptive',???????? (move with the steering). I ask for a reason.

The factory xenon system on the FL MK2 Octavia is adaptive and will adjust left/right with the steering.

It won't work on halogen based cars or the pre-FL MK2.

Had a problem (slightly different one) with mine on the Audi. Adaptive Bi Xenon's.

The flap for the high beam on one side wasn't working and I had to take the bumper (and wheel arch lining) off to remove the headlight.

A very small connector on the edge of tiny circuit board has a loose connection. Managed to zip tie it on (through the bulb access hole). Nightmare.

Saved myself about a grand plus labour, though.

I would suspect loose connection or water ingress. Hopefully a bit of diy investigation can suss the problem, and hopefully the bumper doesn't have to come off like the A4.

Do the OP's car lights work??? My problem affected the mot. Not sure if his will?

Ive removed the headlight completely remove the AFS module checked contacts bone dry no moisture, removed the ballast and bulb and also checked the main connector for the headlight and disconnected the small white plugs onto both motors which are attached to the reflector brackets. I will do its start up sequence for both light (left-right and level) ive a fault code 02626. My next step alwas to swap the AFS modules (same part number) and see if the fault moves to the other head light.
