i have an 02 octavia estate without roof rails.can you get a roof rack or do you need to have roof rails fitted?if you need to have roof rails are the mounts already on the car or is a it a dodgy job?and where would i get the roof rails from?thanks.jon

Mine (ocy h/b 2000 TDi) didn't have any holes for the roof rack, if you slide out the plastic trim towards the hatch after removing the endcap I found 4 holes each side underneath which had some rubber plugs in, I went to the main dealers and found out you can order the fixing screws and some small plates which the roof rack joins onto, I then cut some small slots in the plastic trim for the legs of the roof rack and heypresto - works. It could be the same for the mounting for the rails so nip down to the dealers and have a look at what parts should be fitted, or else go down to a good scrap yard. - Stuart.
