Replacement Key on 2016 Superb

Featured Replies

Anyone any ideas of the cost of a replacement master key. Mine has been stolen.

On the MKII they were around £160 from a dealer.

The important thing though is the old key is cancelled from the car when the new key is coded, otherwise it is only a matter of time before they come to collect the car!

If the key was stolen where the car is usually parked, I would be parking NOWHERE NEAR there until the key has been removed from the ECU.

Is that a Kessy key or a standard ?  asuume Kessy..

Wont the insurance cover it ? As really you need to have the drivers door lock and boot changed too, plus ignition if none Kessy.

When they code keys all keys that are not present get coded out so they will no longer start the car.

Thats correct - but the key can still gain entry to the boot or drivers door... yes the alarm will go off.. but the car is not secure still.
