Smartlink - Worth it?

That's not so on mine. The elements cover almost the entire screen.

I can not see any of the elements I've "assumed" that the heater strip was low down as that area, around the wipers, clears very quickly and the rest of the screen a little later. It's all very fast wherever they elements are located, so you could well be correct Fred.

I still have no issue getting a good gps signal on the phone even with it sitting in a shirt pocket.
