Last October I bought my first Skoda (with the help of Dougal on this forum), a Felicia 1.9 Diesel estate, nothing flash but just what I was looking for, at about the same time I bought a Daewoo Maitiz for the misses, great cheap motoring all round, or so we thought. Since then the Felicais been great, not let us down once and saled through it's MOT, unlike the Daewoo... This went in for it's MOT this week, it failed on emissions which when investigated was down to loss of compression on cylinder2 (it only has 3) most likely cause - knakerd piston ring, solution - new engine ! this plus labour, VAT, 3 new tyers, new CAT and I would be looking at a bill for arround
