Service history - digital?

Featured Replies

So, I'm looking to buy an Octavia vRS (used) and found one at a decent price.

I enquired about the service history on the car and the dealer said it was all digital now, so there is no service book to stamp.

The dealer is going to get copies of the invoices for each service, but is this digital thing true?

Yes it is, from around early 2014 onwards.

Are you buying from a Skoda Main Dealer?

The person you spoke with if at a Skoda Dealership could have gone to the Service Desk and they or the employee there could call up the vehicles service & warranty history on the Skoda / VW system and press the 'print' button.

If at an Independent Dealership then you can still go to a Skoda Main Dealership and ask them to do it for you.

I'm not buying from a Skoda dealer, but they did contact the Skoda dealer who PDI'd the car, and they have records of the services.

Just wasn't aware of the digital history.

How times have changed!

The car I'm looking at was registered in Jan 2014. So it's all good!

If you know the vin number you can put the my skoda app on your phone and set it up with the vin you can then see the service hstory if its been done by skoda dealer.

Yep my old Feb 14 Octavia had electronic service record....what tended to happen each time it went in the garage would provide an A4 size printout of the servicing confirmation, date and mileage etc and lived in a little white paper folder in the skoda folder in the glovebox. Cant remember if that folder came with the car or was supplied with the paperwork on its first service.....

Bizarrely I now have a May 15 registered Polo GTI and that still has a regular service book.

Skoda's don't even come with the service printout holder anymore, it's gone 100% digital.

Skoda are the first of the VW AG brands to utilise this system.
