Swapping stereos

Featured Replies

Hi looking for some advice the light behind several of my buttons on my standard skoda auto head unit. So I was wondering is the bolero head unit a straight swap with connections and will it work with my cd changer as I've been offered one cheap.

Any help appreciated thank you.

Canbus gateway compatibility check required. Revision L? I think or above to prevent battery drain. If older you will need to upgrade that also.

Yes the Bolero is a straight swap, and has exactly the same input multiplug, but you will need a twin Fakra adapter to connect the two aerial inputs of the Bolero to the single lead that is in the car.

Be aware that some Bolero models have a backlight issue which makes the screen very dark at night when fitted to an older car, and that some later Boleros do not see the boot mounted changer when it is connected. However, this isn't a problem, as the Bolero has a 6 CD changer built into the head unit.
