Side Light Error

I found I need to replace this bulb. Q is if I get a LED one will I still get an error message?

I am using these LED bulbs, they don't throw bulb out error because of their high power (I measured about 3W).

When replacing, you just pull out the bulb holder from the tube inside the lamp. You can rotate it the same time so it comes out easier.

While you are waiting for the LEDs to arrive (which will take SOME time because of the 11.11 shopping festival) just find a w5w bulb in your spare kit and replace it.

This is how it will look like with the LEDs:

@Croat the bulb you require is a 501 bulb, you can change them both (5 min job very easy) but you will need to code them with VCDS so you don't get any errors.

EDIT:

I don't know about the bulbs aki78 posted above, if you still need to code them etc but I have changed the 501 bulbs & basically just did the coding from the mk3 coding adaptions thread.

Tnx for the tips guys, but today I noticed the message was gone and light came back on. lol

Ok, after months of ignoring this message. I bought bulbs 501 they were "blue xenon" ofc cost more than regular ones. Just tu put them in and se they glow yellow light.

And interesting the one that was originally inside, is more blue from outside, than new ones.  Message is gone. And I really don't care. But am wondering how is it yellow?

Reason I didn't get LED ones I didn't find any in my local shop that fit.

I got the same problem now. Check Right Front Side Light  (this error appeared 2 times in last month)

1. But looking from the outside I cannot see what light should be missing / not working. Can anybody point exactly which light should I be looking at?

2. When I buy new light, should I change both side bulbs?  I have odb11, will I be able to code what is necessary?

It's very similar to coding number plate LEDs. Just a different channel for the adaptation.

It is in the VCDS sticky thread...

The channels you need to change are:
(1)-Leuchte16BLK SLB35BLK SL KC9-Lasttyp 16 to 6 - LED Lichtmodul
(1)-Leuchte17TFL R BLK SRB3TFL R BLK SR KC3-Lasttyp 17 to 6 - LED Lichtmodul
