Hi, sorry if this question has been previously posted.

I picked up my 66 plate Octavia Sport last Friday (very pleased with her) I'm getting a reversing camera retro fitted but have also ordered a Columbus Sat Nav as an update, when I go to the Skoda update portal and it asks for my vin it shows that I have the Amundsen fitted.  My question is:  When I fit the new system will that automatically be updated i.e. Skoda update site or will I somehow need to manually update so I can get the latest firmware updates for the Columbus, not so important for maps as I assume they will be the same for either Sat Nav.

Where did you order the Columbus update from, the dealers?

I ordered the system through the UK distributors for VAG TEC vagtec.co.uk, a Polish company, retro fit specialists for Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, & Skoda vehicles.  The item I have ordered is a Skoda OEM retro kit Columbus display and head unit (hopefully will come pre coded).

I doubt they'll have the ability to change the Skoda Update Portal details, as that's a database held by Skoda. They won't allow anyone to just change vehicle details.. Better ask them what the procedure will entail for updating maps etc.
