Heater control motor

Featured Replies

Hi All,

We have the 2002 comfort model fabia WITH A/C and the heater cold / hot motor seems to be very lazy. It takes 5 or ten mins for it to change. However, I can't see it I think I know where it is. Can someone tell me what model one I need? I want to buy and replace it BUT have no clue what it looks like.

Ive also been told there are several different types for this car.

Many thanks

From this page. I think you want item 27 - 6Q0 907 511 (just the motor plus potentiometer module)

Or item 31 - 6Q1 819 453B which is the same thing but mounted in a plastic bracket p/n 6Q0 820 892 (item 28)

Try to find a new-old-stock one on ebay or elsewhere as they are pretty expensive new genuine, and secondhand ones may be already dead or about to die.

Aftermarket ones may be cheaper, but not by a lot.

The motor/pot module is very easily detached from the plastic bracket, so you don't really need that unless you break one or more of the plastic clips when you extract the motor.

Jonnybobs are you on about the blower motor behind the glovebox? I bought one secondhand as i thought mine had packed up but it turned out to be ok. The one i bought works fine ive tested it. Its in the boot of the car if your after obe? As long as i get what i paid for it im happy

Ive seen several listed

6Q0 907 511 and several other ones with letters after it.

Will they all fit? They all look different?

As far as I know (from the linked page), the correct part number for your car has no letters after it. So don't trust any that do have letters at the end to be equivalent.
