Morning i have recently purchased an octavia vrs on a 63 plate with 30k on clock and loving it so far. I have found a few glithches though and was wondering can anyone help. The rain sensor wipers do not work even though switched on in the options menu and the wing mirrors dont lower when reversing even though switched on in options menu. I have done a reset to default settings but still the same. Anyone got ideas what could be wrong?

To make the Auto Rain Wipers the wiper stalk has to be up one notch, this is the auto wipe position. The toggle switch on the top of the stalk alters the sensitivity of the Auto wipers. To use Mirrior dip the button on the door has to be at the ' L ' position.

They can do if it has been coded

Sounds like an early one that has been VCDS'd along the way - mirror dip wasn't an option on 63 plate vRS's

But could be coded as you did my 63 plate Vrs.

Thanks for the input. I have worked out the auto wipers and the mirror dip but only the passenger side mirror seem to dip. Is this normal?

Yes, it's normal. 

 

I coded the mirror dip on my vRS but found it to be total hit or miss (which I had previously read was to be expected).  Reversed the coding in the end. Wasn't worth the hassle. Didn't save any time as I was having to reposition the mirror manually anyway.
