SE Business vs SE Technology Superb

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum, I'm looking at getting a Superb as a company car. The boss has told me that I can have the SE business 2.0Tdi (150ps)(No extras allowed), but I can't find the spec list anywhere, every time I search for it I just seem to get redirected to info about the SE Technology. Is the spec list the same or has the Technology superseded the Business?

Thanks in advance

Cheers for the info.

Yep, we ordered a SE business and by the time it was being built the MY 2017 spec so were delivered a SE Technology.

My "se business" arrives 6th march, I'm guessing it's the se tech as it has 8" Amundsen specced.

Yep, ours was and it was a 01/09/16 collection.

with all 2017 mods on it.

Does SE Tech MY17 have auto dimming mirrors (interior & side)? Also, were any floor mats supplied with it? Just trying to know what to expect when mine arrives in a few weeks.

Yep, auto dimming frameless rear view mirror and auto dimming wing mirrors. No mats supplied - we got some genuine ones from eBay which was a dealership in Loughborough.

8" screen etc etc

you wont be dissapointed - you will wonder why people on here are paying way more to have l&k models etc when you experience the level of comfort and technology the SE Tech has.

Thanks, really looking forward to it. The only thing I would have liked is xenon headlights really, but will get some decent bulbs instead.

L&K still seems pretty good value compared to something like an Audi A4 Avant 150TDI which I just discovered has a list price getting on for £10,000 more than the SE Tech Superb! Craziness.

You also have the speed limiter function then I assume? That was a new my17 addition too it seems.

I'll be getting some mats and other bits from Superskoda I expect then. Also picked up a decent budget Android handset to use with Android Auto.

Never had an issue with the headlights - my wife uses the car a lot more than I do for her daily commute on country roads and she has never complained. I have done a few Sussex - Yorkshire jaunts in it at silly o clock AM and the headlights have been absolutely fine.

I am am not sure it has a speed limiter as such - if you use the cruise control and go down a hill or turn it down (as aside to the radar bit interacting with other traffic) and it will apply the brakes and hold a speed. But as for setting a speed

then putting your foot flat down on the accelerator and it not going over your set speed I don't think it does this.

we have our keys set up for each of our accounts so all we do is open with our own key and the car is ready other than the rear view mirror position. But the climate control, radio, seat, lighting, driving settings, side mirrors all set up on the key.

Hm perhaps the speed limiter has only very recently been added then - a couple of other with recently delivered cars have mentioned they have it - see:

I'm looking at the Superb SE Technology instead of the VW Passat SE Business but struggling to find true comparisons. Any comments/ideas?

The L&K is excellent value compared to other similar vehicles.  Loads of features for the money.

Wouldnt buy one new though - i got mine with 700 miles on it and about 8k off list price.

Think these are standard from SE onwards, at least mine has them.

Apologies to revive this thread but I’m a little confused. Searched on-line for the info but can’t seem to find it.

My plan was to go for SE L exec as my company car but I went for a test drive in an SE L exec with DSG.

I ended up using my budget to get an SE Tech with a bunch of the extras (heated, electric seat, heated windscreen, 18” Pegasus alloys) so I could get the SE tech with DSG. Could only have afforded manual in the SE L.

The only confusing thing is that the lease company sent me through the order and it seems to say leather interior? I went on the configurator and the summary doesn’t mention alcantara either...I’m sure this car is alcantara on the seat back and bottom right? Has that changed for 2018? Kind of hoping not - more I read about alcantara the more it sounds like the better idea.

its a alcantara and leather mix... out case of the seat trimed in fake leather with the centre rear seat trimed in fake leather also...

The upgrade to full leather was not too expensive..
