water in hatch

Featured Replies

while washing the car yesterday i realised that the hatchback had water in it sloshing around. i pulled one of the small littlle grommets out and a good ammount of water poured out, anyone else got this ??

needless to say a trip to skoda is on the cards monday

Does the rear screen washer work. Or is it emptying itself into the hatch?

Maybe it froze and then pipe came off.

no it works fine

Colin, you must have a sealant problem around the door somewhere if water is getting in like that, or a partial leak from the window washer tube. It needs checking so you are doing the right thing by taking it in to the dealer.

It's tempting to tackle problems ourselves and sometimes we may make things worse and void the warranty. The dealer is always the first place to go in my opinion.

just as a footnote to this car went in to skoda yesterday and cause is door handle. new item being fitted today

Thanks for the update

Too many threads are left with no outcome, so it's nice to see one with a definitive explanation.

Hope this cures it for good and you can get back to enjoying the car.

Fingers crossed it's just a dodgy handle and not a design fault. I'll be keeping an eye on mine (and an ear for the sloshing noise) from now on.

Regards
