New Golf R32 and Jetta.

Featured Replies

I found myself in the VW dealership (again ;) ) yesterday evening and they have a new R32 - I have to say it looks bloody awful :thumbdwn: However, what did look nice was the new Jetta

autocar dont rate the r32 either... gone soft.

Not sure what the RRP is on the R32 but it must be a lot of money for a posh Golf!

Gone?!

I really liked the mark4 R32. I'd prefer Mk5 GTI with all the extras to the new R32

VW have gone mad for putting silver foil on everything now:thumbdwn:

:wrthless:

hopefully a pic is attached of the new R32....apparently according to the motoring press potential purchasers should save over

Based on looks alone I'd go for the GTi.

:iagree:

Like Loz said, VW seem to have gone mad with the tinfoil. Perhaps Linda Barker's got bored of sofas and has decided to apply the contents of her 'design kit' to the Golf? Those silvery bits certainly smack of something they'd come up with on Changing Rooms to me! :D

Well, I was in the VW dealer (AGAIN!) last night....... The tin foil effect does look particularly bad on the R32 - on a black Passat estate with tin foil round the windows, on the roof bars and other places it looks quite nice. I wonder what stone chips will do for the finish though??

Parked next to one today at the supermarket, and took the opportunity to have a quick nosey round. Fully expected to hate it, but somehow it seemed to look a lot nicer than in the pics I've seen. From the outside, at least - still not sure about the fake turned aluminium trim inside! And come to mention it, the twin 'just outboard from centre' exhausts like on the Clio 182 are a bit naff. So maybe the outside isn't that great after all! :o

Then again, the acres of black plastic on front the GTi don't look much better to me than the (presumably fake) chrome on the front of the R32, so maybe it's just sporty Golfs full-stop that don't appeal...

Oh I don't know!?!?!?!?!

Bring on the V6 Octy vRS!!! :D

(I wish!)

I saw one in person for the first time the other day and it looked like any other golf, boring. The new line up of vag cars have very bland styling in my opinion.

havent they always had bland styling?

I cant think of any VW car that could be called "pretty" - not since the Karman Ghia, anyway.
