Problem Code P0106

Featured Replies

Hi I have a Skoda Fabia 02 1.4 16V Automatic. Just before Christmas the Engine Management light came on and every now and then the EPC light comes on and goes into limp mode. The car doesn't overheat and I have no visible leaks. I managed to get the code off a code reader and the only code was P0106.
I thought it could be the map sensor but I've been researching and now I'm confused could it could be something else.
Please help
Sam

Air leaks are not visible, however I suspect your EGR valve may be playing up, you may find there are more useful codes stored if you use VCDS rather than a generic code reader.

Update:

Ive put a new map sensor in and all is ok atm. gonna take it for a good run tomorrow to see if the management light reappears, fingers crossed it don't. or to c if it overheats, has I'm still getting gunk under the oil cap.

Will update soon.

Thank you to all that have given info very much appreciated :)

Gunk under the oil cap is completely normal for your engine at this time of year, nothing to worry about at all.

Ok well took it for a run and epc and management light reappeared. Not happy. So im now having to check all pipes to see for leaks/spilts ect.

Doing my head in tbh.

Check the vacuum connection to the brake servo, the points where the hard plastic tube are pushed over the four connections tend to split and leak air.

Also, check the breather hose from the module low down on the back of the engine.
