A word that will probably appear quite a bit in this thread will be "Shark". They have an exceptional reputation (I think they're a sponsor here too) and have a fairly extensive dealer network.

 

I had one one my 1.9 TDI Octavia a couple of years ago, using the STS system. Well worth the money.

Look up Big Fish tuning in Stokesley or Automotive solutions in Peterlee. I have been speaking to both ref my up and coming stage one.

 

Both John at Big Fish and Richy at automotive solutions are very knowledgeable guys, no hard sell and I have received excellent recommendations for both.

 

Cost wise they are quoting around the same for a map with rolling road and pre/post read out.

 

I'm probably going to go with automotive solutions as they are just up the road from me and are a VAG independent that only work on the VAG brand.

I don't know how accurate that is these days as some of the local suppliers never answered the phone.

 

I've just ordered Shark's STS system ( live near to you, in Wallsend) but be aware they have no stock and I've been waiting 2 weeks so far.

Darkside Developments at Barnsley in South Yorkshire know the 1.9tdi PD inside out (and the other VAG diesels). 

No idea if/how the dieselgate "fixes" may affect all re-mappers??
