Standard equipment on a 2016 Skoda Yeti SE?

Featured Replies

Hello -

My wife and I have bought her a 2nd-hand 7k miles 05-2016 Yeti (4x4 150tdi) from our local Skoda dealer (when I say local, it's not the very local dealer we normally use - but a less local one as our dealer could not source a similarly-priced Yeti).  The car was listed as SE Business spec (without Sat Nav), but on viewing and investigating further we realised it was basic SE (description incorrect when sold to dealer).

Anyway, we picked the car up on Saturday, and I then noticed it did not come with the emergency triangle - but the dealer states that this is no longer standard on new Yeti's (which amazes me, as surely this is a necessity for roadside breakdowns?).  So, it looks like I'm out-of-date.

To help me feel more comfortable that the car has all that it should have, can anyone here please provide:

  • A link to an official Skoda Yeti brochure for a May 2016 model?  The current version on the Skoda website is dated Nov 2016.  [E.g. the current brochure states that SE spec should come with umbrella under passenger seat, but our's didn't and it wasn't obvious where this would sit if it did.]
  • A list of items that should be included with the car (ours did not come with spare wheel kit); e.g. warning triangle, any boot accoutrements, etc.

If not easy to provide, I will phone Skoda HQ (I dealt with a chap called Phill the other week when confirming that car was SE only, and he was very helpful).

Finally, on a plus note, my wife is delighted with the Yeti (not Monte Carlo, which is a pity as I wanted her to have Xenons) - she loves the nippy diesel engine (much more sprightly than her 125bhp TSI Octavia) and enjoying the Bluetooth functionality (she will enjoy it all the more if she can get the SmartLink to work as it should!).

Many thanks,

Andrew.

Only gunge puncture repair and security wheel nut in boot as standard, no triangle but there are rubber straps to hold one on the floor at the rear.
I have an August 2016 manual I could email to you if required.

Yeti's have never come with a warning triangle, as they are not a legal requirement in the UK.

Spare wheel and a jack are an optional extra. As standard you get a bottle of jelly and an air pump, plus a couple of other bits.

For mid 2016 you should be able to ask your dealer to enable smatlink which will get you SATNAV from you phone.

If the dealer has wrongly listed the car I'd want them to do it for free.

Mine came/was listed with smartlink but i still have to pay £150 for activation even in the configurator smartlink is £150 smartgate £100 activation its for the licence

I thought that if read that, if you have the correct hardware on the car, it can be activated by someone with a vcds cable for free (or for the cost of some beer money for their time).

Anyone confirm that?

No you need a licence code from Skoda.

For the thread starter the car was advertised as SE Business but was actually an SE.

I'd be pushing the dealer for free activating of smartlink as a goodwill gesture to make up for the missing spec.

I agree, if it is not as advertised you can reject it or negotiate the difference in spec. to your satisfaction. What is the price difference between the two models? That should be the basis of your negotiation.
