What colour dials/switch lighting on S3

Featured Replies

I know Audi tend to use red and vw mainly blue with some red, what colour are they on S3 . I tried to find night pictures but difficult to tell, I've got the tech version coming so don't have the ambiance lighting. The limited pictures I've found seem to show it as white lighting, does it look ok or is it a bit dull and dated?

Yes it’s white, personally I like it and actually prefer it over coloured dials.

If you want eye candy you may be disappointed. If you want a clear easy-to-read-with-a-quick-glance instrument panel you won't be disappointed.

The Ambient Lighting option has no effect on the dimmable instrument panel.

I don't think VW have used blue with red since the Mk4 Golf, have they..?

Golf V, Passat 3C, Tiguan, EOS and that whole generation had blue with red as well.

Ah yes, I remember my old Passat and those lovely blue numerals on the instruments. You know, the colour that the eye has the hardest time focusing on, coupled with red at the opposite end of the visible spectrum. White is clear. White is good.

My R36 which is the B6 platform has Blue needles (at night, white during day ) with increments in white , and temp of aircon windows in blue with everything else red , but unique to that designation E27BA3CB-CB44-4820-B164-80C654969931.jpg
