Featured Replies

"Not yet" seems to be the answer

The other problem you might run into it that MS has turned off the licensing servers for older versions of Windows. So you can't use XP for instance even when you have a genuine license.

Might be easier to pick up on of those cheapish Chinese dual boot tablets or a cheap Windows Tablet.

Aspman, there is a general train of thought that windows on android is not the way ahead. I've been given a couple of windows tabs to consider link1010 etc, and from your post above, getting a cheapish wintab is the way to go. Interesting article on BN and have bookmarked it for future reference. Thank you.

Are you really considering making changes to your ECU using some emulator cooked up in a teenagers bedroom? I'm fairly apprehensive about it using a relatively professional app like Carista. Good luck. Even the best emulators I've tried have been buggy as hell.

Camelspyder, it's not that i'm intending using an app instead of the full vcds software, what I was after was a gui interface that would allow me to run vcds on android hardware. I have seen "virtual windows" apps, but don't trust what I have seen, so far. I have the same train of thought as you on apps, basically I use them as references, never as gospel.

Interested in the chinese gear. Just going to do a bit more digging. From all the info so far, a dedicated cheap(er) windows tab is the way forward. Remove as much of the packaged bloatware that comes as norm for windows kit (unfortunately), install vcds and crack on. Just noticed it can take upto 128gb expansion.

@GentleGiant buys a lot of stuff from China, he might know which of the suppliers/brands are more reliable than others.

Will have to drop him a line and discuss what's what. Cheers for the info.
