20" wheels on a mk2 superb estate?

questions as easy as the title really!

would 20" rims fit on a superb estate??

am assuming that 8 or 8.5" wide wheels should fit, i'm guessing though i would have to be on something like 235/30 profile tyres or expect rubbing??

also, i quite like some of the BMW, and range rover wheels that are about.

would they fit with adapters, or would i be in trouble with the adapters pushing the wheels out too far??

thanks for any help :)

8" (something like a 225/30R20) should fit as its nearly identical to one of the common Superb sizes of 225/45R17 but oww, my spine aches at the very thought. And I hope there are no potholes where you live.

I dont think BMW wheels could be made to fit as they have a very deep offset so would stick out a lot, before you even add adaptors to match up the bore and bolt holes.

i'm on 225/40/18 as it is, and to be honest i have driven cars with far worse ride quality!

even so, i doubt i would have then on all the time, i just fancy some for the odd car show and stuff

never been able to get my head around the whole offset idea :(

The ET figure (the offset) is how far the hub face is from the centre line of the wheel. A higher offset brings the wheel in closer, eg ET34 means the hub face is 34mm towards the outside of the wheel from the centerline. Reducing it to a ET20 would push the same wheel 14mm further out.

Yeah a higher et ~50+ would be a lot better when paired w a spacer. Many spacers run 20mm or more thick. Meaning if you want a tire that doesn't rub and sits under the fenders, you need to have an offset like 60. Lol. Not sure where wheels like that can be found.
