Oil filter

Featured Replies

Octy 3 , 2.0 litre diesel DSG  oil filter comes out below engine. The large ring goes on the plastic oil filter cap to seal it but I couldn't see any small rings anywhere. Some Skodas  have a plastic 'spike' with small rubber seals on them,  going through the filter element but this one didn't.

Any ideas?

The filter has a drain plug, it goes on that.

Thanks, but where about IS the drain plug? Is it designed so you can drain the filter rather than removing the cap with the ensuing 'oil in the face' situation?

It's part of the cap, secured by a 13mm fixing. It can be removed in order to drain excess oil so you don't end up with the old "black shower" scenario.

Thanks again BRISKODA - prompt reply, as usual. It's SO worth paying our sub's.

Always happy to help.

when you do the swap make sure you lubricate the seals and don't over tighten the plastic cap, they warp very easily.
