Felicia door lock rod part 6U0837159A query

Featured Replies

I was about to arrange an MOT for my Felicia when the plastic end on the rod to the door lock (part 6U0837159A) broke clean in two. I have had no luck trying to find a replacement in the UK and abroad, and everywhere I've tried has told me that the part is shown in their system as being in stock, but is actually unavailable.

Exterior handles that include the rod that links directly to them appear to be available online. Does anyone know if one of the plastic ends on these can used as a replacement for my broken part?

You can get replacement plastic rod ends from other sources;

Schumacher racing make radio controlled models, and they call them "ball Grippa", or they can be found on older Tamiya r/c models: The steering arm ends of a Grasshopper I/II are an exact fit on the 4mm ball on the end of the lock arm, search for part 9400274.

Many thanks for telling me about alternative sources for the rod ends, Favorit Fan. I now have the part I was looking for, supplied by a car breaker, but your info is still extremely useful.

always buy the Skoda part if you can get them, because the two alternatives that I offered have differing thread sizes to the Skoda lock rod, so they might need a little work with a drill bit(preferably by a hand drill or Dremel.) to make them fit.
