Front Assist

Featured Replies

So I've been meaning to post for a while now but keep forgetting.

I seem to trigger Front Assist warnings constantly, but it's always when I have ACC on and engaged (which is most of the time). Does it actually work when not in ACC, or have I just not been giving it enough time to do it's thing?

When you say you have activated front assist Do you mean that the maxi dot displays the impending crash symbol or that the car just breaks when behind a car?

Front assist is turned on and I can see the warnings in the maxi dot. What I'm wondering is will it break if I have ACC off.

Sorry to ask again what do you see in the maxidot? Is it a car symbol with parallel lines below or a large flash like symbol?

Even with ACC off I've had front assist brake once when a car turning off to the left suddenly stopped halfway into the turn.

Ok. The front assist works independently from ACC  so even if ACC is off Front Assist will still Activate in certain situations . What surprises me is that you say you get a front assist warning with your ACC on, I would have thought your car would be breaking through ACC anyway as does mine before any need for Front Assist. If you mean that ACC is on,but not set, and you get the warning at the bottom left (two cars close together) of the maxidot then I would suggest that you change your driving style as you are regularly driving too close to the car in front

So when the car had stopped turning, did you have your foot on the accelerator? I've read conflicting opinions on whether having your foot on the gas will deactivate Front Assist.

Yes very likely ;)

No, when I saw the car indicating left and braking I took my foot off the accelerator as I try to anticipate and am not a "last minute braker". If the turning car hadn't stopped mid-turn I would have slowed enough not to need to use brakes.
