Unexpected Wheelspin

Featured Replies

Talking of diesel like torque, I gave my 1.4TSI some wellie in second gear in the dry today (ECO mode). Traction control flashed at 32 mph. Impressive display of power and torque but maybe it was just those Michelin Energy + tyres. I do normally drive in a more relaxed fashion.

I had the 1.4tsi in my Leon FR, it would happily light up the wheels in 2nd and some times in third especially on an incline. It had the awful Bridgestones on it though, so I had to get used to it tramping on me when all I genuinely wanted to do was gather some momentum. Imagine my joy when I picked up my Octy VRS and it had the exact same Bridgestones on it :(

Bridgestone's, Meh :dull:

I've learned to be far more progressive with the loud pedal, otherwise things light up quite a lot.

At 11k miles now and I'm happily only a few weeks away from replacing both fronts :)

Errr. So that traction control light doesn't flash all the time as standard ?, thought it did, you learn something new every day !!!
