Hey all 

 

I'm a new Fabia owner - purchased a 59 registration Fabia about 6 months ago.  

 

I've just encountered two issues today after not having used the car for three weeks.  Firstly - my warning light for door open stays on despite all doors being properly closed.  Secondly - my car key doesn't work properly - it unlocks the car, but doesn't lock the car.  I'm forced to use the manual key turn on the car handle for the car doors to lock. 

 

Any idea what the issue is?

A faulty door lock module I'd assume,

common fault across the vag range,get it on vcds to see which one but probably the drivers door 

 

the battery on your fob may be going flat,usually unlocks the car when going flat but doesn't lock it,but I'd get the dirt module sorted first and go from there 

Broken cables in the loom between the door hinges coming off the multiway connector are common.
