Pipercross panel filter

Featured Replies

Hi,

Has anyone here installed a pipercross (or similar) panel filter on their stock tsi engine?

If so, any noticeable effects? Throttle response? Fuel comsumption etc...  or just a complete waste of money?

For a performance engine, and with exhaust mods / remap there's a tangible benefit for aftermarket air filters.

In the case of just dropping one in and hoping to notice anything different (other that a nicer sound if you went for a full replacement intake system) you'll be wasting your money.

It probably won't flow any more air since most of these airboxes/filters are sized for air for at least a 225bhp engine. It will last at least twice the mileage though, and might make the engine feel a little brighter.

Filters that last twice as long have caught twice as much stour unless you cleaned them at the same time as you would replace a standard filter.  Just how life is.  Blocked or blocking up filters often means more fuel used and less power not more,  so you think of cost,  location location and does a regular clean or replaced filter make more sense or power.
