If you need a hand give me a shout. Not too far from you and have VCDS if you know what you need to code.

Yes, all four connections to the radio quadlock

Can you tell me what the rca plug in my picture in the bag go's to

If the car is coded correctly the camera screen comes up when reverse is selected(blank screen if camera isnt working or connected).

If you dont get the camera screen it is not coded correctly and the camera will not work.

Ok reference rca this is what I have found

http://www.my-gti.com/529/volkswagen-rns-510-pin-assignments

but PIN number 14 appears to be on the bottom left socket for the camera and states not assigned

Please read what I've written and what's in the Kufatec instructions.

The RCA lead in the bag is NOT to connect to the RNS510 connector. The RCA lead needs adding to pin 5 and 14 of the connector that plugs in to the Kufatec interface.

You might want to consider asking an auto electrician to fit this... If you do it wrong you might damage the car or interface.

As i mentioned earlier unless you are getting a blank camera screen when reverse is selected your car is not coded correctly.

The camera wont display anything until you do this so you wont know if its working anyway

As stated before the person I brought the head unit off had all the coding done on the head unit so it should work over wise I will have to get get the auto electrical person to do that as well,

AIt's coding required is in modules 19 gateway and 10 Park assist, so until that is done, the car won't know the camera is fitted, and so won't work. There is no coding done on the head unit. There isn't any coding of the camera module itself as it can't be opened with vcds, so don't know what the seller meant when he told you it was already coded.

Until your gateway has 6C back up camera selected in the installation list, the car won't even know the camera is fitted.

Mike

I m assuming the park assist is on the the settings on the head unit and not the car.

the person I brought it off had a camera fitted to according to the posts I have read of his. Rgh999

Park assist (module 10) is the front/rear parking sensors, this needs coding for the RVC.

The cars CAN gateway also needs coding.

The RNS510 will at least need it's coding checking as it's unlikely to be 100% correct for your car.

ok thanks langers2k il relay that to the auto electrician when i speak to him

many thanks.

i think im just getting to old to remember how to do theses things anymore

I hope this doesnt offend but you dont appear to know what you are doing.

I have done this mod as have a few others on this thread.

First thing i would do is get the car coded correctly so the camera screen shows when the car is put into reverse.

Without this the rest is irrelevant as it the camera wont display regardless.

Once you have the screen on reverse then you can check the wiring as you will get a picture from the camera when its working.
