Hi I carried the oil below in my Passat 2.0tdi 140bhp would it be ok in my black edition which I guess is the same engine?

Simple answer, yes.

Skoda specify oil to VW spec 504 00 / 507 00 5W-30 for this engine and that will be mentioned on the reverse of the bottle.

Much appreciated thanks

That oil is 504 00/507 00 approved, so it's spot on.

Strictly speaking you can get 504 00/507 00 in 0W-30 too, but it isn't common.

May sound a silly question but.  Our current car an Audi 1.2 TFSI before delivery I read that it was common for it to use around a litre with in the first couple of thousand miles and it did indeed.

Is this the same on the Skoda 1.2 in the Yeti ?  Never notice this in any other of our previous cars.  After popping a litre in it never consumed anything much as in that initial period.  Apparently it is normal and a noted feature, but I haven't found anything on the Skoda 1.2 doing the same.

1.2TSI & a 1.2TFSI are the same just you pay more for a 'F'.

They can and do sometimes use oil in the first 5,000km just like it says in the owners manual, some do not obviously,

But the VW Group have it in owners manuals for all engines from 44kw up, 3,4,5,6,8,12 cylinder petrol or diesel or even Hybrids just to cover themselves,

also 'May use as much as 0.5 litres 1,000km' (621 miles),  then the can say 'Within tolerances'.

LOL "F" !!!!

So I'll expect pretty much the same, cheers for that, thanks for your help.
