How long will you keep your MKIII for

Really 'If your brakes fail a MOT'   ]

Just the thing for people that can not be bothered maintaining their vehicle, drive it with unsafe brakes to a MOT station then get a Fail.

Are you serious?

Questions certainly do needs asked, maybe a MOT examiner saying you have to have that vehicle uplifted.

I think that was probably just a bad example, and that they ceryainly would have had their brakes checked as soon as they noticed a problem, anyhow they would still then have claimed on the warranty.

Good, so it covers usual use of brakes and replacing brake pads that wear.

(something like some 'Fitting centres do when they charge double or treble to fit brake parts for the life of a vehicle.

?

Is that the Warranty you have covering wear and tear, and does it cover Clutches or Clutch Packs.

How much does your Warranty cost per year?

Any mileage restrictions or where Warranty Work can be done?

Look for a warranty, read the terms and conditions for different policy levels. That way YOU know exactly what it does and does not cover.

I dont need Warranties i have Modified or New Cars.

Just interested for others that often ask and with Skoda Fabia Twinchargers always say only buy the Skoda / VW Warranty,

any known issues they know about.

I was just interested in the Wear & Tear Warranty you or others had purchased, but thanks anyway.

Yes, I'm serious! Of course, the scenario you mention cannot happen and be covered by warranty. You are forgetting that before any car can be warrantied with any aftermarket warranty company, you must prove it is serviced regularly to manufacturers specs and it must have a current MOT. This service regime must be adhered to continuously to maintain your warranty just as with any manufacturers warranty. The vehicle mileage must be within the warranty company specifications (usually under 60k, 80k 100k depending on level of cover purchased). They check every detail. So if your car develops a problem or by some chance your car fails it's MOT, as long as you have still complied with manufacturers service schedule, it will be covered by your warranty. This wear and tear cover also covers Tyres and many other components. (if you have purchased that level of cover). Warranty Direct recently paid out a massive amount to a buddy of mine with a Lexus. His auto box need a complete rebuild and failed due to wear and tear on some components. This caused other wear on the box and it failed. They replaced the torque converter and various other solenoids and hydraulic clutch valves. Total cost was over £5,600. Absolutely no quibbles from them.

Exactly, as we know, common sense, so Failing a MOT with worn brakes and getting parts was pants was it not?

Kwik Fit sell you MOT Warranties though and others, but no Warranty replaces Servicing & Maintenance,

and many can be expensive before a payout where the Policy Holder has to have the Diagnosis or Removal of parts first before the Warranty Manager then might reach a decision on accepting a claim and paying on it.

Tyre / Wheel Insurance also available, as Warranties are Insurance Policies really and Underwritten by Banks / Financial Institutions and even Warranty Companies can be owned by Manufacturers.

Warranties on Tick is just a Credit Arrangement on a Insurance Policy or breakages,

or as being said here with some Acceptable Wear through Use.

No George, read my reply again. It covers wear a tear items that go out to lunch for an MOT. I paid £375 (5 years ago) for my warranty on my first Skoda estate that went out of manufacturers warranty, and it covered any MOT item that failed plus anything else. As I mention above, even tyres if you have paid for that level of cover.

Thats it, pay enough and you can cover anything.

Lots pay £300 ish for Twinchargers 12 months of Warranty knowing a failure is £4,500 or so or the DSG £2,500,

but there are Max Claim Limits,  but it saves hassle buying the SKODA (VW) Approved as Car Care Plan ltd was and the current one is.

Many just buy better built and reliable cars and put money away for Emergency Repairs,

or buy a Kia / Hyundai,  or maybe a Toyota, Nissan, Honda & leave the German Owned Manufacturers cars to those that like a gamble.

Well, my mk1 Fabia I 1.9TDi I owned from October 2002 until end March 2015.. I did 225,000+ miles in it.  I've had my mk3 from trading it in and done some 35,000 miles in nearly 2 years.  How long? Hmm.. difficult to say.. performance is nowhere near as good as my old mk1 with its PD engine.. I exceeded the Extra Urban figures in my old Fabia.. not quite got there yet in my mk3.. Had 71/72mpg at the most out of it.. but nothing higher.. if it lasts as long as the mk1 I'd be surprised.. even though my driving style is kind to the car, I still can't see it going some 225,000+ miles like the mk1.. the DPF sucks the performance out of the car when the car decides its time to burn off the crap inside the DPF.. in car entertain is great can't fault it, but its little consolation and the Fabia is now very expensive for what it is sadly.. everything today is an extra.. not sure I'd get another Fabia.. I would imagine mk4's will be e-Fabia Hybrids given the VAG scandal and the governments drive to ban diesels by 2020+..
