Low Requested boost

Featured Replies

So my octavia vrs is only requesting 1600mb of boost as a maximum. If im correct a standard vrs should be going up to 1800mb.

Target boost matches actual boost levels so I dont think there are any issues with boost leaks, its been smoked and nothing found.

What are the limiting factors of boost?

Took this from the workshop manual

–  Accelerate vehicle in 3rd gear at full throttle from 2000 rpm and press the memory button “M” on the turbocharger tester at 2800 rpm.

Nominal value for charge pressure: 0.16...0.17 MPa

So I think i'll leave that alone then. Thought it may be useful for you guys

SO I spent a few hours playing with the diagnostics kit and found the MAF reading 80 g/s at full throttle near the redline... stole one from my merc which promptly read near 150 g/s at full throttle and requested 1900mb of boost and the car mostly hit it but then boost surged all over the place. New N75 from the dealers and all is tickety boo (I had fitted an after market one which was utter tosh). Waiting on a new maf to be delivered though as I need the other one back in my merc for work.

Thought I would pdate the thread in case anyone else wonders
