Folding mirrors..

Featured Replies

Stupid question maybe but.. do the mirrors on the sportline fold in when you lock the the car or do you need to manually (button) fold them in?

If it's like the SEL you can either use the switch or have them fold automatically when you lock the car. I use the switch to save wear on the mechanisms.

Thanks. I assume the mirrors on sportline are the same.

Would have though so but an owner will be along soon to confirm :-)

Yes mirrors on a sportline fold automatically when the car is locked.

Theres a tick box in the infortainment screen under settings > mirrors and wipers.

its not ticked by default when you get the car... unless enabled during PDI

I've found that I can't fold my mirrors in above about 30mph.

There is a 50mph road near me which has a narrow bridge on it. I always like to fold the mirrors as I approach, so that I don't lose them, but can't.

I'm not sure if that even rates as a 1st world problem :)

On reflection it is a bit frightening that the local council allows such close proximity with closing speeds of up to 100mph

50Mph..too narrow.. Folding mirrors in... Too fast comes to mind...

I didn't say that I was doing 50mph over the bridge, but trying to fold the mirrors on the approach, I would would need to slow to less than 30.

Even at 30mph ..

The car is 2031cm wide and 1864cm with no mirrors...

16.7cm extra width or 8.3cm at each side...  Which when folded Only reduce the overall width by 4cm max each side..

Even at 30mph.. Or even 15mph.. Passing a static object where you feel you need an extra 4cm clearance is too close IMHO.
