Featured Replies

Everyone knows what a vRS is, but assuming it's an acronym, what does it stand for?

yeah, RS usually stands for Rallye Sport, but I've often wondered about the v....

Well, I believe its just an 'add-on' for the British market. hence meaningless. Don't the Euros have RS?

Most people seem to think that 'v' stands for Victory.....I understand it to be the first letter of the Town/city where Skoda's are built in Chech land

I thought that Skoda started to use RS, but Ford had already been using that for years and kicked off about it. Hence Skoda added the V, which made the cars and the badge much better than Ford cr@p anyway. ;)

The 'v' must stand for somthing, why not just add a random letter or another 'R' then it bwould be ' rRS ',.....:)

Well, what happened was ford wouldn't let skoda introduce the octavia rs, as this is their own trademark, focus rs, rs cosworth etc. in the uk.

RS means renn sport which is german for motor sport / race sport.

So they then called it vrs.

The V in vrs is linked to skoda motorsport, which is the emblem for skoda motorsport which i do agree is for victory.

Vrs, of course, stands for

Very Rapid Skoda!
