Water leak in to spare wheel well

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have been experiencing a water leak in to my boot / spare wheel well. The leak has been on going for a few months and gets worse when it rains. I have taken my vehicle (Skoda Fabia 2011 plate) to two garage, one couldn't find a leak and the second added silicone behind the light cluster which hasn't worked. The leak appears to be coming from the left hand side of the boot, but I cannot be 100%.

I really am desperate for someone to locate the leak, any advices would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Dave

The usual method for finding these leaks involves locking someone in the boot with a torch, and then spraying the suspect area with a high pressure hose.

Also, if you have a sunroof, the rear channels may be blocked and/or the LHR drain disconnected at the top.

You could also check the rear washer pipework, and for a missing bung in the spare wheel well.
