fuel guage intermitented

Featured Replies

hi octavia 2006 mk2 1.9 tdi elegance, the fuel guage has started intermitantly going off after a couple of hours driving quicker on a warm day i have changed fuel sender/pump unit (new) still the same i went to a local dash repairer place as his diagnostics said it was faulty rebuilt it and retested it all fine and next day low and behold doing the same again any one got any ideas as when scanned after dash repair no other faults present he was using vag com to do scann and to electronicly recode dash

If it is not the sender, then maybe a broken or loose wire connection either at the ends where the connector is or along the wire loom path.

Other than that, the clock unit containing the gauges could be faulty but you would have to temporarily change out to another to prove it and it wouldn't be possible to run the car with copying the immobilising settings.
