this symbol on the top left has just appeared on my display.

 

does anyone know what it means, please? I could not find anything on the manual. Thanks.

Does the symbol also show on other readings, like avg consumption? I think this might just be an indicator for time only and is a normal behavior.

I will check this during my way home and reply you if same happens to me.

That's just the current trip driving time.

 

Use the buttons on the stalk to switch between the displays and get back to MPG etc.

unsure about older Maxidot but you can store two trips at once.

 

so you most likely hold one of buttons too long and it switched between 1 and 2 or activated second trip ;-)

If he tends not to change the display maybe that symbol equals to 1 day? 1 day and 16 minutes total driving?

No. Phil-E has it right in post 4.

The 1 indicates memory one, the short term memory that is reset a few hours from ignition off. The 00:16 indicates it is sixteen minutes from ignition on following an auto reset. Note that this could be the total of several journeys/ignition cycles if the auto reset time has not been achieved.

The clock symbol shows you are looking at time. This will dissapear or be replaced with another as you cycle up/down with the switch on the end of the stalk.

Momentarily press the button under the stalk to change to memory 2.

Press and hold this button to reset the long term memory when showing its display.

In case you are interested, your mentioned several hours to reset the short term memory is exactly 2 hours.
