Things I dont like about the octavia are:

Its a turbo, I hate turbo lag.

Its a turbo - PITA to reverse park up steep hills and driveways (yes, this is a problem, try it and see)

Its a turbo, lots of pipes all over the place to get old and split.

The level of grip is questionable on non-4x4 models

The handling is a bit poo, the bumper and sump are stupidly low - I dont like lowering cars at the best of times.

What I do like is the equipment level, the space and the fact they're quite un-common. Yet to see one identical to mine.

VRS models have stupid white carpet and white seats.

So, you want a turbo diesel, but without the turbo?

accord tourer?....2.0/2.4 petrol or 2.2ctdi diesel...massive boot, clever rear seats & elec tailgate;)

legacy wagon?....4wd..thirsty, bit of a cheap feel inside

passat estate?....nigh on the same as A4,octavia

volvo v50/v70?....very underrated!

vectra estate?....biggest boot in this sector!....dodgy indicators;)

mazda 6 estate?....clever rear seats, excellent value for money

mondeo estate?....extremely competent, good engines (sure scoobychris would agree! )

or the good old Octavia..that'd be my choice:thumbup: ...nice Laurin&Klement PD130 estate....sorted!
