Variable to fixed servicing

Featured Replies

My vRS is currently set to variable servicing (QG1). I want to change it to fixed intervals. How do I go about doing that then? I did hear somewhere that if I try and reset the service indicator then it will revert itself to QG0, is that right?

Cheers

Jon

Read the manual - follow the instruction in there for resetting the service indicator.

Job done.

If you go from variable to fixed servicing you can't go back to variable...so be sure it's what you want to do

Just interest as to why you can't

You can go back to variable from fixed, but you will need to have a service done.

Either way if you are switching service schedule you will need to do it on service.

I am going to do a service and then switch it to fixed intervals. The car is between services (variable) but I want to do it now. Is it something I can recode myself or does it need VAG-COM ing?

Just what I was told by two Skoda garages around here.......but Ross knows a lot a better than I do..so I have learnt something else

Just reset the light on the dash and it will be on fixed.

Thanks for solving that one, Octavia is on my next car shorlist and was interested in trying out extended servcing, but if it worked out not to be cost effective would want to revert back to fixed serviving.
