Engine fan

Featured Replies

Engine cooling fan comes on when engine is started up.

skoda Octavia 2011 vrs fl

I had to disconnect the car battery so the ecu would shutdown and since I reconnected the battery and start the engine the cooling fan kicks in straight away

cooling fan run on problems are pretty comonon. normally an engine bay relay problem or the fan / controller problem themselves. Do some searching.

When the air conditioning / climate control is on there will always be a fan on, so that air can be passed over the condenser. Turn the a/c off and see if the fans stop.

I had a problem with mine where the larger fan would run at high speed but the smaller one would not operate, please see here for how it was fixed.

Don't forget the fans are LIVE even when the ignition is OFF, so DON'T put your hands in there without DISCONNECTING the battery first.
