DIYing my problems away

Featured Replies

From previous threads peeps may have seen that I'm having a few running issues with the vRS

After a few hours of research (what a Friday night ) I'm going to try a few, seemingly inexpensive DIY solutions - need a bit of advice, sorry if this thread drags on a bit ;)

I'm a bit of a mech muppet - so can someone please SHOUT is I've got me wires crossed up below....

1. N75 Valve: Gonna change this baby. Seems straight forward. Looks like I need an N75F. Will get from VAGparts.

2. Dump Valve: Gonna change this baby too. Later on might go for a Bailey but whilst I'm going for the 'shotgun' approach to problem solving I'll be starting with the Audi TT OEM DV from VAGparts.

3. Remove and clean throttle body, then reset. Seems straightforward and done with carb cleaner.

4. Check pipes to turbo etc for leaks.

5. Clean MAF - seems to be some debate as to whether to whip apart and use contact cleaner or seal in a bag with fluid and swill it around a bit. Anyone got any further advice on this?

Anything anyone else recommends that is cheap and straightforward?

Finally, and this is where I embarrass myself :P

Using the pic or some easy to understand directions - where exactly is the Turbo and the Intercooler?? :D

Thanks as usual guys

Follow that pipe from the MAF - should go the turbo. Looks like its on the back of the block, like the TDIs (easiest way in is from underneath) - Follow pipe from exit of turbo, and next thing you come to should be the intercooler. :) (again underneath)

Dont know if this will help you,but take a look at this site www.ottawa-vdudding.com MK4 Forge TIP may help you slightly and suggest you not but N75.

Don't know how to do link sorry.Hope this helps.

sorry for the hijack but is the Audi TT OEM DV better than the octavia vrs dv:confused:

The TT DV is the same Bosch part as the VRS one.

I've just done a how-to on MAF cleaning.
